About the game
In a similar vein to Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, Arknights: Endfield lets the player explore Talos-II in an expansive, open-world setting with the option to access the OMV Dijiang, a space station that serves as Endfield Industries' headquarters with features reminiscent to the RIIC.
Combat is similar to the aforementioned games, but unlike those, the entire party will be actively engaging in combat instead of the player having to command one party member at a time. The character (Operator) under the player's control can command the others to unleash Combo Skills when certain conditions are met to inflict heavy damage upon the enemy, and the game also features a similar element to Break from the Xenoblade Chronicles series where certain attacks leave the enemy open to taking massive damage or severely crippled by some Operators' attacks.
Playable characters include the Endministrator whose gender is chosen by the player when starting the game for the first time and can be switched on the OMV Dijiang with a cooldown, and Operators split into the 6-star (including the Endministrator), 5-star, and 4-star rarities. While most of the characters are original to Endfield, some are "reincarnations" of the original Arknights characters including Angelina, Surtr, and Eyjafjalla called Reconveners.
Unique to Endfield is the AIC feature, where players can construct an expansive base with complex logistics/supply chain mechanic to procure various materials extracted from the overworld to advance the Talosians' development while keeping them safe from intermittent Aggeloi and Landbreaker attacks, quite similar to that on Satisfactory.
The gacha system is similar to that of Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves by featuring both an Operator and weapon banner, down to the drop rates which are much lower than that of Arknights's, although like it, 5-star and 4-star Operators remain viable at all times when built and used correctly, not to mention that it is surprisingly easier to obtain high-rarity weapons and the pity systems ensured that players won't lose too much from being less fortunate.
